Terms of Service

Welcome to ReturnTrack. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ReturnTrack mobile application ("App," "Service," or "ReturnTrack"). By downloading, installing, or using ReturnTrack, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ReturnTrack, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ReturnTrack.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use ReturnTrack. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the App. By using ReturnTrack, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Description of Service

ReturnTrack is a mobile application that helps you track return deadlines for your purchases. Our Service includes:

  • Receipt scanning using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology powered by OpenRouter AI
  • Automatic extraction of purchase information including merchant names, items, dates, and return policies
  • Local storage of receipt data and purchase history on your device
  • Push notifications and reminders for upcoming return deadlines
  • Timeline view of all tracked purchases and returns
  • Shipping tracking for returned items via Track123

Third-Party AI Processing: When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to OpenRouter (our AI service provider) for OCR processing. OpenRouter processes the image to extract text information and returns the results to your device. We do not store your receipt images or extracted data on our own servers. All data is stored locally on your device after processing.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of ReturnTrack, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

4.2 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting us at support@returntrack.app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

5. Subscription and Payment Terms

5.1 Free Version

ReturnTrack offers a free version with basic features, including limited receipt tracking and standard notifications.

5.2 ReturnTrack Pro Subscription

ReturnTrack Pro is a paid subscription service that provides premium features, including:

  • Unlimited receipt and purchase tracking
  • Advanced notification options and customization
  • Priority customer support
  • Additional features as they become available

5.3 Payment and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account
  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your App Store account settings
  • No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of a subscription period

5.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. We will notify you of any price changes in advance.

5.5 Free Trials

We may offer free trial periods for ReturnTrack Pro. If you do not cancel before the end of the trial period, you will be automatically charged for the subscription. You may cancel at any time during the trial period without being charged.

6. User Content and Data

6.1 Your Content Stays Yours

You retain complete ownership and control of all content you create in ReturnTrack, including receipt images, notes, and other data ("User Content"). Because all data is stored locally on your device:

  • We do not have access to your User Content
  • We do not store, process, or transmit your User Content to our servers
  • You do not grant us any license or rights to your User Content
  • Your data remains entirely under your control

6.2 Accuracy of Information

While we strive to provide accurate OCR extraction and return policy information, ReturnTrack does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information extracted from receipts or provided through the App. The AI-powered OCR processing happens on your device and may occasionally make errors. You are responsible for verifying all information and return deadlines independently.

6.3 Data Backup

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for backing up your data. We recommend enabling iCloud Backup on your iOS device to ensure your ReturnTrack data is included in your device backups. We do not provide cloud backup or sync services. If you delete the app or lose your device without a backup, your data cannot be recovered.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use ReturnTrack to:

  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the App
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
  • Scrape, data mine, or extract data from the App using automated means
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Upload fraudulent, false, or misleading information

8. Intellectual Property Rights

8.1 Our Rights

ReturnTrack and all related trademarks, logos, service marks, and trade names are owned by us or our licensors. The App, including its design, features, functionality, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. This license does not include any right to:

  • Resell or make commercial use of the App
  • Modify, copy, or create derivative works based on the App
  • Download or copy account information for the benefit of another merchant or third party
  • Use any data mining, robots, or similar data gathering or extraction methods

9. Third-Party Services and Links

9.1 OpenRouter AI Service

ReturnTrack uses OpenRouter as a third-party AI service provider for OCR processing of receipt images. By using the receipt scanning feature, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Receipt images are transmitted to OpenRouter for AI-powered text extraction
  • OpenRouter's processing is subject to their own terms of service and privacy policy
  • We are not responsible for OpenRouter's data handling practices
  • OpenRouter processes images transiently and does not permanently store them

9.2 Track123 Shipping Tracking Service

ReturnTrack uses Track123 to provide shipping tracking information. By using the shipping tracking feature, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Tracking numbers are sent to Track123
  • Track123 provides shipping status updates that are displayed in the App
  • Your use of this feature is subject to Track123's terms and policies

9.3 Third-Party Links

ReturnTrack may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources (such as merchant websites or return policy pages). We do not endorse and are not responsible for:

  • The availability, accuracy, or content of such third-party resources
  • Any products, services, or content available through third-party resources
  • The privacy practices of third-party websites

Your use of third-party resources is at your own risk and subject to their terms and conditions.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

10.1 No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the App will be corrected
  • OCR extraction will be 100% accurate
  • Return deadline reminders will always be delivered on time

10.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RETURNTRACK AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
  • Missed return deadlines or return opportunities
  • Business interruption
  • Personal injury or property damage

ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Zero Liability Policy: ReturnTrack is a tool designed to assist users and is not responsible for the acts or omissions of the user. We bear no liability for missed deadlines, failed notifications, or any other failure to act by the user. In the event of dissatisfaction with the Service, your sole remedy is to request a refund of your current subscription period.

Refund Policy: To be eligible for a refund, you must submit a request via email to support@returntrack.app at least fourteen (14) days prior to your next scheduled billing date. Refunds are strictly limited to the amount paid for the current billing cycle (e.g., the last weekly charge for weekly plans, the last monthly charge for monthly plans, or the last annual charge for annual plans). No refunds will be issued for prior billing cycles.

10.3 User Responsibility

You acknowledge that ReturnTrack is a tool to assist with tracking return deadlines, but you remain solely responsible for:

  • Verifying all return deadlines and policies with merchants
  • Initiating returns within applicable time periods
  • Complying with merchant return policies and procedures
  • Any consequences of missed return deadlines

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ReturnTrack and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
  • Your User Content

12. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

  • Posting the updated Terms in the App
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
  • Sending you a notification through the App or via email

Your continued use of ReturnTrack after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App and delete your account.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which ReturnTrack operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiations. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable arbitration association.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

15. Apple App Store Terms

If you access ReturnTrack through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • These Terms are between you and ReturnTrack, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App
  • In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of the App
  • Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right to enforce these Terms against you

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ReturnTrack regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.

18. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by ReturnTrack.

19. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights and obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction. Any attempted assignment in violation of this section shall be null and void.
